Poetry is meant to be heard as well as read! We put on an open mic once or twice a year. This is a friendly event, for established poets to try out new pieces, and for new poets to get their
first taste of public reading in a gentle and supportive atmosphere. Each reader has about five minutes (maximum three
poems). There is either a theme for the evening, (although you are also free to bring poems along that have nothing to
do with it), or a ‘featured poet’, who is given a longer slot. The open mics are open to members and non-members alike
– sign up ten minutes before the start if you want to read.
The date and the venue of the next open mic aren't settled yet; we will announce them here as soon as we can!
